
Toe toe Aotearoa - New Zealand's largest native grass is a distingtive landscape feature. Leaves were used by the Maori to line walls, to make roofs for their whare (houses) and for weaving 'tukohu': Containters used for cooking in hot springs. The flower stalks were used to make kite frames and the feather heads for kite tails.
